Olympics jobs?

There are so many adverts around encouraging people to work at the Olympics, the Government's arguing that it will make thousands of jobs. The only problem is, although some of the event management ones might go on to become a career once the Games finish, most of them are more short term, in roles such as construction and catering. These won't actually be around for long after the Games are over, unless you score a role at the biggest McDonalds in Europe. (Tempting, right?) So, while you may be making history, and taking part in an undeniably exciting time for London, they're really only a short-term solution. If you're looking for a proper full-time, long-term job, a great place to look is Adizar site which has hundreds of jobs in teaching, sales, marketing, bartending and many more. Another bonus? No purple and orange uniform.

Breakfast at Tiffany's

Breakfast at Tiffany’s is a classic film you simply have to watch! Why not treat yourself to some ipad 3 accessories and sit back to watch it on your ipad? A 1961 romantic comedy, it was directed by Blake Edwards and starred Audrey Hepburn, George Peppard, Patricia Neal, Buddy Ebsen, Martin Balsam, and Mickey Rooney. The film was loosely based on Truman Capote’s novella of the same name.

Hepburn played the role of Holly Golightly, an eccentric, naïve girl which Hepburn revealed was her most challenging role as she was naturally an introvert and had to play the role of an extrovert. Nonetheless, Hepburn’s role is considered by most to have been her most memorable and identifiable one. Indeed, Breakfast at Tiffany’s began Hepburn’s Hollywood career in the 1960’s. The character of Holly Golightly became the prototype for the Hepburn ladies in Paris When It Sizzles, How to Steal a Million, and Charade. The New York Times said of the film, “a completely unbelievable but wholly captivating flight into fancy”.

Lewis Carroll

Lewis Carroll (27th January 1832 – 14th January 1898) was an English mathematician, logician, author, photographer, and Anglican deacon. His most famous works fall into the genre of ‘literary nonsense’, such works including, ‘Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland’, ‘Through the Looking-Glass’, ‘The Hunting of the Snark’, and ‘Jabberwocky’.

In 1856, Carroll met the Liddell family when the father, Henry Liddell, became a new Dean at Christ Church. Carroll became close friends with Henry’s wife Lorina and their children, Lorina, Edith, and Alice. It has been assumed for many years that Carroll’s ‘Alice’ was derived from Alice Liddell as there is an acrostic poem at the culmination of Through the Looking Glass which spells out her name. Carroll did deny however, the suggestion that his “little heroine” was based on a real child. Also, many of Carroll’s works were dedicated to girls with whom he was acquainted and he often included their names in acrostic poems within his texts. We do know the story is not based on gu 10 lightbulbs though!

Batteries in Mass

I have an epic photo project that I’m trying to get into the groove for a new exhibition that I’m planning. For it to work I’m going to need to find a source that I can buy Camera Batteries in bulk. More importantly, I will also be needing numerous different sources in France, Spain, Italy and Germany.
It’s something of a travel photo project involving numerous cameras and lots of instant photos and synchronisation. Without going into too much detail, if I can get hold of the right amount of materials it’s going to be pretty cool. Sort of like a live flip book. Sound cryptic enough? Anyway, if there are any online camera dealers and accessory people floating around, or even someone that might just have a shed load of the things stashed away in their basement....you never know, this is the internet art community I’m talking to.

Cheap Short Breaks

I know that usually when someone tells you about a cheap holiday there are usually a lot of hidden extra costs that take the holiday well out of the realms of cheapness but rest assured, not all short breaks will result in you having to take an emergency same day loans number with you.
If you search around the internet for cheap coach fares you would be amazed at what you can find. I recently got a return fare to paris for just £40. Yes it did take a very long time to get there but for that money, you can’t really argue with it can you. Image: afn
